Artist Statement
For years I have studied and experimented with the Imprimatura technique of the Old Masters. Consequently, I have developed a glazing process which serves as a means to achieve the desired results in my artwork. As an artist I am concerned with concepts of space and its relationship to the extremities of chiaroscuro and color intensity. I strive to find a statement of balance and awareness, a balance between craftsmanship and spirituality.
My subject matter varies between the abstract and realism. I use realism as a vehicle to be changed, rearranged, or improvised upon in an attempt to find a new definition of harmony. My abstracts are a search for new meanings in the ultimate truth and purity of our souls. I search for intergrity and spirituality in my work. I believe in Art and its purpose in life. It is my ultimate goal and passion to create a thing of beauty.
